Yoga
The ancient practice of Yoga originated thousands of years ago in India. Yoga is a timeless art requiring no special equipment or clothing. The word yoga means, “union” and refers to the mind-body connection. Although Yoga is considered a spiritual tradition, it is a practical aid and not a religion.
Yoga poses (asanas) boost metabolism, heighten cardiovascular conditioning, promote both muscular and bone strength, increase stamina, improve immune function, increase flexibility, improve balance, prevent injuries, lower blood pressure, reduce weight, lift the mood, heighten sexuality, regulate insulin levels, reduce stress and promote overall well-being.
Yogalates:
Eclectic mix of Yoga asansas and Pilates movements. Yogalates develops overall strength and endurance, with an emphasis on the core. Class concludes with guided meditation for relaxation.
Baby & Me Yoga:
Being a new Mom is an awesome adventure and even more fun spending some of that recovery, bonding and discovery time with other moms and babies. Spend the first fifteen minutes chatting and playing with other moms and babies and the next 45 minutes honoring your mind, body and spirit with your baby safely next to you or participating with you through postnatal exercises that renew and rejuvenate. We spend a few minutes of dedicated baby stretches and movements; enough to awaken but not too much to over stimulate.
Prenatal Yoga:
You’ve been wanting to do “something” for yourself to stay active in your pregnancy. Do more than that. Develop a meditation practice to help focus and calm your mind during childbirth. Learn how to encourage your body to open, as it readies itself for the birth of your baby. Find peace, rest and balance in an environment that truly celebrates this incredible time in a mother’s life. We were not meant to do this alone; actively jump into the sisterhood of this beautiful community to both offer and receive the support every mother-to-be should have.
Preschool Yoga:
The preschool Yoga program is for three to five-year-old children. Learning Yoga using specially designed child friendly activities stimulates children’s verbal, spatial, and physical skills. Additionally, children train to focus, develop awareness of boundaries and redirect their energy while empowering the child. Bring a mat, water bottle and wear loose fitting clothing such as sweatpants and tee-shirt.
Yogakids:
Yogakids is more than a stretching class for kids. Yoga promotes strong and flexible bodies in a non-competitive environment. Students develop self awareness while learning how to focus with relation techniques (helping with calming and getting reading for tests.) We stimulate verbal, spatial and artistic skills through Yoga activities and develop friendships and sportsmanship while playing games.
Yoga for the Special Child:
The therapeutic powers of Yoga have a positive effect on children with special needs. Whether children have physical challenges, learning difficulties, exhibit limited attention and impulse control, or even illness, Yoga can promote well-being, develop focused awareness, and strengthen young bodies in a stress free, fun and energetic class.
